2018 - 2020 - ReTV - Smart Personalised Content

Video content is increasingly consumed in a variety of situations and conditions, which vary according to the user’s current circumstances. Before leaving for work in the morning, a user might view a live news update on the Smart TV; at lunchtime she might watch a 30-second highlight on Facebook, and later return to the story on the way home with a longer clip from the Mediathek.

This is where ReTV comes into the picture.

The Project

    The ReTV project aims to deliver the content that users want wherever, however and whenever they want it.

    Within ReTV, experts from the domains of AI, web analysis and media content are researching user behaviour and content preferences in order to develop new forms of AI-driven interaction and personalisation, including the use of chatbots and smart speakers.

    In addition, ReTV researches how data-mining can support professional content producers in their efforts to make their offerings more targeted and personalised, including improvements in presentation and distribution of thematic content. The project is developing a Trans-Vector Platform (TVP) including new tools enabling such refinements.

    rbb leads the implementation of various application scenarios based on the TVP. Research and development includes testing and refining pilot applications ultimately leading to practical usage scenarios for improving rbb's performance on the various vector platforms.
